Projects
The following projects are currently being developed by our company:
| HD-VIEW – European funded R&D project. Project start announcement here. Project end announcement here. |
|
| ANPR – The automatic number plate recognition system is based on the open source OpenALPR software suite and has been adapted to run on-site on a Jetson Tegra TK1 board. Additions to the original software were made in the form of motion-detection triggered image acquisition in order to compensate for the limited embedded computing power provided by the Jetson, and recognition clustering used to choose the best confidence hit from a motion event. The detected plates are presented in a friendly web interface. | |
| ID Card Recognition – The project involves recognizing the data from a Romanian ID card, including extracting the picture. The image can be acquired from any phone camera and processed using the OpenCV library. The application does automatic affine transformations in order to generate the best possible image to send to the OCR engine. | |
| Bar-code Recognition – The project involves recognizing and interpreting a bar code in an image acquired from a regular low quality camera in sub-optimal light conditions. The bar code is first isolated in the image, extracted rotated and interpreted. The result is output through customizable interfaces like Ethernet, WiFi, Bluetooth, I2C or RS232. | |
| Industrial Video Measurements – This application uses a high resolution camera to perform real time measurements for cut-outs in a production line. The item is placed under a very high resolution camera above an uniformly colored background. The item is then masked and the contours are extracted and measured. The item is matched against a DXF database and the measurements are compared to the required dimensions and tolerances. The results are written in a database. | |
| Thermal Image Acquisition System – An FPGA powered application that uses our software distribution to acquire and process thermal images from a detector and provide the processed image through a Camera-Link interface. The system’s pipeline include pixel correction, palette changing, multiple temperature ranges calibration, histogram equalization and brightness and contrast control. | |
| SPOT – Portable Thermal Observation System – another FPGA system integrating a Thermal Image Acquisition System and a visible camera along with an Evanescent software server in order to provide both visible and infrared image information complete with image fusion capabilities, GPS information, laser telemeter, IR laser and video streaming capabilities. |
