Călin BîrăCălin is an experienced electronics engineer, specializing in low level software design and hardware, gained while working in research and development projects, both in the academic sector as well as in industry, as a senior software engineer for Infineon and later Microchip. Călin is an expert on microcontroller-based systems and their electrical interfaces, instrumentation, and PCB design, which enables Silicon Acuity to approach hardware-oriented projects or closely interact with our customers’ technical teams for PCB and control interface design. Călin obtained his PhD in 2013 from the Politehnica University of Bucharest, where he continues to teach classes related to microcontrollers, signal acquisition and digital design. |

Radu HobincuRadu’s experience is in low and high level software design, gained while working in several research and development projects, both in the academic sector as well as in industry, as a senior software engineer with UbiCore Technology, Ixia LLC, and as an Assistant Professor with the Politehnica University of Bucharest. He obtained his PhD in 2011 on the subject of software design and architecture for power and energy efficient embedded processors. Radu has been involved in numerous projects working with the most popular programming technologies, and is an expert in object-oriented programming. Radu teaches courses on programming, algorithms, and digital circuit design. |

Lucian PetricăLucian specializes in FPGA circuit design and computer architecture. Formerly a digital design engineer for UbiCore Technologies, a Romanian start-up, and Ixia LLC, Lucian has extensive experience in FPGA-based processing for cryptography and video. He has completed his PhD in 2012 on the topic of energy-efficient scheduling algorithms for many-core soft processors in FPGA, at the Politehnica University of Bucharest, and has continued collaborating with the university on research topics ranging from parallel processing to cognitive radio, computer vision, and electronic design automation. As a part-time activity, Lucian teaches courses on digital circuit design, FPGA design and object-oriented programming. |
